HANNAH EHRLICH

Hannah Ehrlich delves into unprocessed experiences, fragmented memories, coping mechanisms, and the complex dynamics of human emotional resilience in her art. Her creative journey embraces constant evolution as she navigates these realms. Ehrlich utilizes an array of textile techniques such as weaving, crocheting, macramé, and sewing to explore her subjects in depth. By altering fabrics through methods such as painting, dyeing, and bleaching, she transforms their original state, creating an enigmatic landscape that entices viewers to engage tactilely and comprehend the reinvented fibers.

The manipulated materials function as a visual allegory, prompting viewers to embark on a quest to reconstruct the past and decode the quest for meaning within it. In 2017, Ehrlich earned her BFA in Textile and Fiber Arts from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia. Following her graduation, she has operated from her studio in Atlanta, GA, showcasing her artwork in various galleries across the Southeast. Recently, she served as the Artist in Residence at The NARS Foundation in Brooklyn, NY, further enriching her artistic odyssey.
